Your 'electronic signature' is your email address which is required by the Senate, along with your name, to prove you have personally read and support the contents of the petition.

Although they are very encouraging and valued contributions, comments, letters, affidavits, or other documents are not permitted to be attached to the petition. We are however, uploading your comments to our web site to 'share the love'.

Below you will find the original contents of the petition prior to submitting it to the Petitions Office for a conformity check. As advised, we will revisit the wording to condense it and to be more concise about the actions we would like the Senate to take.

We've invited everyone to participate in open group discussions on Facebook to identify these actions, which are likely to affect many of us in different ways. Once we have a clear picture of the desired actions of the community, we will resubmit the petition to the Petitions Office for a final check.

Before forwarding our petition to Senator Lee Rhiannon (Australian Greens NSW) for presentation to the Senate, we will contact existing signatories to read the new wording and ensure ongoing support.

The entire process may take some months to orchestrate so please be patient and, in the meantime, share the petition as far and wide as you possibly can. The more, the merrier!
